There is very little I can say about this next sequence of pictures other than you would have to have been there so see it for yourself. No photograph can take the place of what is out there. ![]()
How is this for a motel?
This is Meteor Crater and for those of you that have the know how and have the proper software these pictures can be put together to make a mosaic.
We are Traveling North of Flagstaff on US-89, there's not very many twisties on this road but it is really a wonder to see.
We are now on SR-64 West bound getting ready to inter the South rim of the Grand Canyon. And for you that say that it took hundreds of thousands of years for the Colorado River to cut this extremely beautiful and most colorful canyon out of the rock; will you please tell me how the Colorado River managed to clime up to eighty two hundred feet to start cutting all of this rock out into this beautiful sight??? Please.
Here is one of the many rentals around the Grand Canyon.
If you look closely at the next picture you will be able to find these people in there.
As with the Meteor Crater pictures, those of you that have the know how and have the proper software these pictures can also be joined together to make a mosaic. These pictures run from right to left.
These pictures below are just random shots and do not fit together.
Along US-180 going twards Flagstaff.
Twenty five minutes later, were getting closer.
US-66 from Seligman to Kingman. Not very many twisties on this road but it is kept in very good repair; the asphalt is a little rough but smooth and riding it is a lot like US-129 you remember what I said about the old notch in the ole handlebar thing.![]()
This is on old US-66 from Kingman down to Topock, and is one of the best of all as far as twisties and switchbacks and elevation changes here in Arizona. This road is a real tret and a good test of your nerves and skill to drive, this road is not very well kept and there's not very many safe places to pull a motorcycle off of the road. (I know, I fell, yep I fell, I pulled over in what I though was a good place to take some pictures and Dick got off and my stand sunk in the sand and I fell. The sand looked just like the pavement "Pink" and felt heard. It wasn’t
). You will also need to expect to come across plenty of washouts, no not the road literally washed out but dirt and gravel washed over the roadway, about half or more of the time the washouts will be in a curve, you know what I mean by being on your game, even with new tires it won't help if you don't see it in time. This is the old route US 66 and if you have the nerve? This is not a road for the faint hearted, you really want to be on your game to drive this one all the way.

I was laying on my side when this one was taken, no not on the bars but on my side.

See the Red car coming up the road in this picture? If you look closely, just in front of it in the curve you will see a pull off. That's where I fell!
I felt so stupid.
Oatman, a must visit. Don't worry if you're on old US-66 you will go through here. I got to see my first gunfight here. They shut down the only way through town and have a bank robbery and gunfight. I sit there in 104F for a half hour while all of this was going on and it was wonderful.
Whether you go by motorcycle or by car this is a fun place to go.
Like I said it's a little rough out here but it is fun, ole yeah here's how hot it was.
This road is not very well kept and rather bumpy as you can see.
The camera was set on maximum stabilization and then the software in the computer that was used to upload the video to YouTube was also set on maximum stabilization and you can see it still is very bumpy. All scenery is extremely beautiful though.

Here were going North on US-93 and across Hoover Dam.
These two pictures can also be put together as a mosaic.
I-15 going through the canyon.
Now we come to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I must say that after being at both North and South Rims, the South Rim is much more spectacular than the North.
And one last look off of the back porch before we start North again.
Now we're going East on Alt. US-89 through the Vermilion Cliff.
If you visit this site and it doesn't matter if you are a motorcyclist or not, and know of beautiful places in your state and would like for us to visit there and take videos and photographs to post on this site, so everyone will be able to see what is in your state for them to see, please E-mail me with all the information and possibly a picture or two of what you're talking about and I will respond to you and make arrangements for a visit to your state.
As far as we are concerned this website will always be a work in progress, I doubt it will ever be completely finished, even if all of the states are filled with photos and videos. There will always more to see.
